Facebook jail that is.
Apparently, I've joined a growing number of people who've found themselves in Facebook time out. Yesterday, while trying to post videos, I noticed my Facebook account had been disabled. This morning, I was notified that something I posted "violated community standards" and therefore my posting privileges have been revoked for 24 hours.
What exactly did I do to wind up in Facebook jail? No clue, and that's the frustrating part. I tend to keep things pretty mild, I don't engage in conspiracies, I don't post misinformation, etc. Sure, my videos trigger political debate, but there's nothing wrong with having an opinion (as far as I know).
This is something I've actually been worried about for some time. As a newly independent journalist, my social media platforms are how I disseminate information. To have one of them shut down without any recourse is terrifying.
Share your own Facebook jail stories here if you've got 'em. In the meantime, today's episode of [un]Divided will post here to Patreon.
