As the state faces a massive budget crisis, where agencies find cost-savings tells you all you need to know about the people in power. Plus: Will Democrats push new taxes to make up the difference? The agency we give millions of dollars to help the homeless sure did a crappy job during last week’s bomb cyclone. Conservative backlash over Trump’s choice for surgeon general.
A state task force focused on combatting extremism is exactly what you think it is. The Seattle Times really loves platforming whiny workers. The Seattle business community is committing economic self-harm. University trades DEI for MEI. Pirate treasurer on “Florida Report.”

A state lawmaker will push to make homeless people a protected class – and this time, she may have the votes to do it. Federal judge compares banning men from women’s spaces to “whites only” laws. Pennsylvania commissioner openly admits to counting illegal votes. No, the media didn’t actually believe its own Trump rhetoric.

I struggled with what to talk to you about tonight.
Well, that’s not true. I didn't struggle with what to talk to you about – I struggled with whether I was brave enough to say what I wanted to say.
When I'm invited to speak to groups, I don't want to offend anyone or be too controversial. So, I reached out to a few of your fellow party members to ask whether any topics were off limits or wouldn't go over well with the crowd.

Before he even takes office, Bob Ferguson makes it clear he has every intention of obsessing over the other Washington. Meanwhile, Seattle takes a more cooperative tone. State response to bomb cyclone gets worse by the day. PSE’s poorly timed electrification offer. Addicted to drugs? Here’s a gift card!

Picking loyalists who can best communicate Trump’s agenda directly to their departments and the American People
Not rely on them for policy but persuasion
Certainly can’t trust the mainstream media.
